Welcome to the first entry of my beauty guide series. Over the years, I’ve tried more foundations than I can count, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that finding the right one has very little to do with trends and everything to do with texture.
For a long time, I bought foundations simply because they were popular online. Some looked amazing on other people but never seemed to work for me. After a lot of trial and error, I realized that the way a foundation feels and wears throughout the day matters just as much as the shade itself.
For everyday wear, I usually reach for lightweight formulas that feel comfortable and natural on my skin. They provide enough coverage to even out my complexion without feeling noticeable. For evenings or special occasions, I prefer something with a bit more coverage and staying power, while still looking like skin.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to pay attention to how products perform on your own skin rather than relying solely on recommendations. What works for someone else may not work for you—and that’s completely normal. Once you find a texture that suits your skin and lifestyle, choosing a foundation becomes much easier.
